KRENENX UTOPIA by Ican Harem & Pinkygurl

Held at Cekai O!K in Tokyo, Krenenx Utopia showcased the bold and experimental fashion of Balinese artists Ican Harem and Pinky Gurl. Featuring unique pieces like embroidered jackets made from Islamic prayer tapestries and a large shirt crafted from car-washing cloth, the exhibition merged traditional and unconventional materials. The artists’ work challenges hyper-consumerism by blending multiple garments into new creations, reflecting their roots in Bali’s thriving alternative scene. This exhibition offered a glimpse into the evolving cultural landscape of Bali through fashion, art, and music.

The exhibition’s visual identity was designed by Vicky De Visser, who designed the poster and accompanying sticker sheets. Drawing inspiration from the makeshift DIY stalls of Balinese markets and the local tradition of tuning motorcycles, Vicky transformed the market stalls into sleek, tuned vehicles.

BEDTIJD Rapid Eye Movement

The installation Bedtijd invites visitors into a dreamlike space of transparent textiles. Here, the senses are stimulated, and improbable stories unfold, weaving the mundane and the mystical into boundless spaces without a clear beginning or end.

This collaboration between artists Irene Brok and Vicky de Visser, explores textiles as a medium to visualize dreams. Using intricate techniques such as quilting and the interplay of light and projections, the installation strikes a balance between playfulness and introspection.

The soft, translucent fabrics —reminiscent of a dreamer’s bedroom— form walls, canopies, and floors where dreams take shape. Visitors are encouraged to sit, recline, and immerse themselves in this intimate environment, becoming part of a living dreamscape.

NIHILOXICA Source of Denial

With the latest release by Nihiloxica, Source of Denial, the Ugandan drum band ventures into both metal and harder techno. Through this concept album, they criticize the cumbersome Schengen visa system.

I created the new logo, along with the designs for the vinyl record, CD, single, and band shirts.
